
Laura Bart
Legal Fellow
Prior to joining Student Defense, Laura gained experience working at the U.S. Department of Education in the Office of the General Counsel as a legal intern. Throughout law school, Laura also worked in the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s K-12 Division and at the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Before law school, Laura spent three years working on Capitol Hill as a Staff Assistant and Legislative Aide, where she developed a strong passion for education policy.
Laura earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2025, where she founded the Education Law Society and served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Gender, Social Policy, and the Law. Laura holds a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Bucknell University.
Laura is not yet admitted to practice law and is supervised by organizational principals while her D.C. Bar application is pending.
